Treacy’s Bar is one of Ireland’s oldest traditional pubs and one of Ireland’s best known landmarks. The exterior is warm and inviting with it’s white stone washed finish and traditional golden straw thatched roof. Established since 1780, Treacy’s is one of the oldest premises in Ireland whose tradition has been continued and maintained in the same family name. The seventh and eighth generation of Treacy’s now serve behind the bar.

Tradition and warmth greet visitors in the cosy old pine & stone finished bar complete with pot bellied stove. The restaurant serves the best in home cooked food all day. Ingredients are sourced locally where possible and freshly prepared in house, something else that sets Treacy’s apart. This is quality home cooking.

Treacy’s is situated in the shadow of one of the country’s most famous forts, the castle ruins of The Rock of Dunamase, once the stronghold of the great O’Moore Clan of Co. Laois. Today it lies just off the M7 motorway, an easily accessible and a convenient stop for tourists and weary travellers alike. Click on the 'How to get here' link at the top of the page.
